5 Things you need to know about Runway Fashion Exchange

We’re all familiar with the consignment clothing store concept.  You walk into a place that smells like a musty crypt, crammed with stuff that was cool to wear when the Carol Burnett show was on TV.  Some are better than others.  Some are cooler than regular retail clothing stores.  Okay, not some.  One.  Runway Fashion Exchange.  Here are five things you need to know about Billings’ newest and coolest place to shop for clothes:

 Location, location, location.  Runway Fashion Exchange is located in the old Tuesday Morning building on 24^th street (125 S. 24^th Street West).  What you may not know is that RFE is a franchise, with locations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Washington.  So how cool is Billings to get one?

 Sweet cash.  You bring in stuff that you think might still be worth something, it gets placed in a cool steel container and processed while you shop.  THEN, RFE decides what to keep, and gives you 30-40% of the resale price in cash.  Now if you could just find someone to give you cash for that Furby you had to have when you were 8.

New and not-so-new gems.  Obviously, most of the inventory is not new.  But the accessories are!  From funky scarves, to fashion jewelry, and rows and rows of fabulous purses, you can find just the right flair to go with your new clothes!  Maybe you’ll be like a certain blog-writer we know and find not one, but two of those darling knitted headbands with flowers on them for ONLY $7 EACH!!

Atmosphere.  This store has such an urban, hip vibe but beyond that it is super well stocked and organized with clean, name brand clothes.  If American Eagle and Hollister had a store that sold used clothing, this would be it.

Let the treasure hunt begin.  You’ve got an outfit that is just on the brink of amazing, all you need is the perfect pair of shoes.  RFE is the place to shoe shop for shoes that will take an ordinary look to, well, a runway look.  Ditto when it comes to formal wear.  If you don’t feel like shelling out a pile of cash for a dress you intend to wear once, or you want something that can’t be found in all the local department stores, go root through RFE’s collection of prom/cocktail/vacation dresses.
