Billings Outdoors
As I was growing up in Billings I know I would often fall into the trap of thinking, “There is nothing to do in this town!” During the evenings it could get a little boring staying in and watching the same 4 channels. But when the weekend came, I knew I could sit around and complain about being bored, or I could get outside and explore all of the recreational activities that Billings has to offer.
My name is Scott Sery, and I love being outside. Whether it is a simple walk in the park with my wife and our dog, or an expedition to the mountains, I would much rather be out than in. Living in a community like Billings, there is plenty to do outdoors. Getting in the car and driving just a few minutes will land a person in a fantastic, exciting new (at least to them) place. In fact there is so much to do outside it can cause a person to be overwhelmed by the options. My aim here on Billings365 is to help narrow the choices making it easier for you to get out there and experience the area.
From rock climbing on the Rimrocks, to fishing the Yellowstone, nothing is better than geting out there and experiencing the “wilderness” right outside our front doors. There is no need to drive for hours to find a remote spot and enjoy nature, instead we can get to one of the many parks nearby and feel like we’re miles from civilization. If roughing it isn’t your style, perhaps a quiet afternoon playing tennis in one of Billings’ many maintained parks would suit you better. Regardless of how you want to spend your time outdoors, I want to help you find the area and activity that is right for you.
As 2012 takes off, look for the new outdoors section on Billings365 to get you pointed in the right direction for your next adventure. With hundreds of parks, fishing spots, trails, recreational areas, and lakes nearby it would take a lifetime to explore everything. This is exactly what I plan to do, then I will relay my experiences to everyone else who wants to explore as well.
