3 Looks for 3 Workplace Situations
The new year brings new ventures and with new ventures brings new fashion questions! 2012 might find you with a quest for a new career. Of course it’s your personality and resume that matter, but your interviewer will size you up in 2 seconds on that first impression. So your thinking… I need interview clothes, work clothes, and an outfit for happy hour! All this could make a girls head spin. Have no fear! We will show you how to transition some pieces for all three. This blog will focus more on a casual work environment. For obvious reasons this might not apply to all positions.
You can’t go wrong with the printed ladylike dress. It is the essence of class and professionalism. For the interview, stick to hose and nude pumps. They elongate the legs and make you feel tall and confident. Throw a blazer on and you can always take it off it exudes stuffiness. Round out your ensemble with classic rhinestone studs and simple classic jewelry. A tote would be great to carry to throw your resume in and also any papers they might give to you.
So you got the job!! NOW WHAT!!!?? Take that wonderful dress you used on interview day and throw on a long flowy cardigan. Change the hose for tights. Switch the heels for boots. A satchel might be easier to carry than a huge tote. Funk up the jewelry a bit and WHALA!!!
Okay now you have met friends at your job and they want you to go to happy hour!!! YEAH! So take that wonderful dress you have and throw a leather jacket on top! Pleather is fine in this instance. We are all on a budget right? Take the tights off and sass it up with knee high sweater socks! The jewelry can be big and bold. While you are at it throw a fringe purse in to boot!!!
We hope this helped with the wardrobe portion of that new work experience!! It is up to you to go get em’!!!
Most of the items you see here can be purchased at Apricot Lane Boutique Billings!!
