Insanely Eventful Weekend in Billings
Summer in Billings is stacked with events, which of course we here at Billings365.com love! This weekend just might be one of my absolute busiest. I’m still not quite sure how I’m going to make it to everything that I want to, but I’m going to give it a good try.
First, I’m planning to get together with my Dirty Dash teammates at Tiny’s Tavern tonight for a little camaraderie before race day. Tiny’s has a wonderful patio for a hot evening plus affordable beer and appetizers to indulge in (but not too much as we do have to run our butts off tomorrow!).
After that, I need to make it over to West High for Relay for Life. Whether you are walking or not, it is sure to be a great time. The event begins at 5pm and The Clintons will be performing starting at 8pm. Plus, there’s gonna be fireworks around 10:45pm. Admission is free but there is a suggested donation of $5. It’s for a great cause so don’t be cheap!
Race Day is Saturday at MetraPark with The Dirty Dash. The event begins around 9am. My team races at 10:40am. Racing or not, there’s something for everyone. They’ve got a beer garden, food…oh, and water balloons that you can purchase and throw at the runners as they cross the finish line. Proceeds benefit our local YMCA.
Ok, so then there’s Yellowstone Art Museum’s Summerfair at Veteran’s park. It’s on Saturday and Sunday. I haven’t quite figured out which day I’m going to attend but I definitely want to get there. This is a great event for the family with entertainment, good food, and the best arts and crafts finds. I’d like to get a few unique things for my house.
Lukas Seely presents comedian, Gabriel Rutledge at Manny’s Sports and Entertainment this Friday and Saturday night. I always have a fantastic time at the comedy that Lukas brings to town. I’m thinking I’ll be attending Saturday night since I’m hitting up Relay for Life on Friday.
And finally, Sunday night is a huge night of hard rock at the Rimrock Auto Arena. Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage and 4 more bands perform. It’s hard to pass that up so even after all the business of the weekend, I think I’m going to have to rally and get to that too.
And that’s just the start of it! There’s so much great stuff in town this weekend. If you are in town, be sure to take something in! There’s just no good excuse not to! Check out our events section to browse through it all.
