Ales For Trails!

October 3, 2012 @ 12:26 pm by jodie

An inordinate amount of beer choices and breweries represented.

A silent disco.

Loads and loads of happy, brew swilling outdoor enthusiasts. (Some didn’t care about the outdoors- they were just enthused.)

Funk in the Trunk planted firmly in the middle of the baseball diamond and enveloping Dehler Park with their groovalicious tunes.

This is what happened last Friday night at Bike Net’s annual Ales for Trails fundraiser.

I met so many new people and ran into lots of old friends. I danced like a wild woman at Überbrew’s Silent Disco.  I drank excellent, excellent beer. This was a fabulous party!!

Bike Net is this:

“BikeNet is a non-profit, 501c3, grass-roots organization that supports urban trails in and around the Billings community. We are people like you that want to create a better place to live. We are individuals, families, and businesses that join BikeNet to increase awareness for trails in our community, raise money to use as matching funds for trails, or simply go out and enjoy them.

VISION: The Billings area is a premier community for healthy lifestyles and active transportation
where biking and walking are safe and an integral part of everyday activity.”

Cheers to these people who want to make Billings a better, healthier and safer place!  Safe trails for walking and biking are essential to better living. Especially if you aware of the crazy driving in this town. (Yes- I saw 7 of you last week run red lights and a few more of you yell weird stuff at bike commuters…) If you didn’t hand over $30 this past weekend and revel with the rest of the partiers, you can console yourself by having a beer and sending Bike Net some money.
