Big, Fresh Sandwiches and Homemade Soups at Sweetgrass Sandwich Co.

Billings has so many great cafes, bakeries, and sandwich shops to grab a delicious and fresh lunch at.  One of my  favorites is Sweetgrass Sandwich Company located at 2908 1st Ave N.  Just last week I had a business lunch there.

If you’ve ever been there, you know, their sandwiches are massive!  I swear there’s a whole pound of meat on them plus all the fresh fixings you could want.  I have learned to simply order a half sandwich as it offers plenty to keep me satisfied.  You can find their menu here.

This time, I went for the Sweetgrass Special which has ham, turkey, salami, swiss and cheddar cheese, and thousand island dressing.

All sandwiches are served with a good helping of potato chips and a pickle but after the waitress told us the soups on special for the day, Cream of Broccoli or Chicken Gumbo, I couldn’t pass up on a cup of the homemade cream of broccoli to accompany my sandwich.

Lisa, who I was dining with also informed me that they have delicious cornbread which she ordered with a cup of soup.  I’m tempted to go back for that because it did indeed look delicious.

One more tip–on Tuesdays, try the cream of mushroom soup.  I’ve had it before and it is wonderful.

At checkout, they’ve got giant cookies, brownies and bars if you want to grab a snack for later (you won’t be hungry later but they look too good to pass up!).

If you’re in the mood for a fresh and filling sandwich and/or a good cup of soup, make sure to give Sweetgrass a try if you haven’t already.
