Magic City Music Awards are this Sunday!

The Magic City Music Awards, formerly “The Billings Outpost Tuney Awards”, will be held this Sunday, December 2nd at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company at 5pm.  Fans can vote now at magiccitymusicawards.com for their favorite local bands, individual musicians, DJs and more.

While the event is still put on by The Billings Outpost, the new name signifies some major changes that have been made to the awards.  The biggest change is in the voting system.  What used to be a 100% fan vote, will now be a partial fan vote coupled with votes from a group of judges who are knowledgeable in the local music scene.  This is to offer a more balanced system that discourages “ballot stuffing.”  The categories have also been updated to better reflect today’s local music scene.  The physical awards given out will still be called “Tuneys” but the event name itself with be The Billings Outpost Magic City Music Awards.

Sunday’s event will honor the local music scene with the presenting of the awards along with live performances by special guests Earthshine, Pete Tolton, Reid Perry, Matt Taggert, Battlestar Kramden, Maxie Ford and spoken word by Anna Paige.  Hot 101.9′s, Big J will host the event.
