Silent Art Auction to be Held at West High

The Billings West High Art Club is holding it’s annual silent art auction to raise money for the Sue Dolan Art Scholarship. The gallery is currently open, and looking great! I recently finished my student teaching at West and had a chance to get to work with the art club during their weekly meetings.  I can tell you that the students have been working hard on their submissions for the auction since late October under the direction of Brittney Levang, a talented and admired art teacher at West High. The ability level of the students at this school never ceases to amaze me, and they did not fail to deliver some stunning pieces for the auction.

The Sue Dolan Art Scholarship was set up in 2010, following the passing of Sue Dolan, a respected and much-loved Billings art teacher and aims to send one talented student to art school with $1,000 towards tuition. The silent auction also gives students the chance to experience what it is like to display their work in a gallery and to exercise the professionalism of practicing artists.

The last day for bidding is on Monday, December 10th at 3:15-4:30 and will be held in the West High art gallery. Come on down for art and appetizers and help support your local up-and-coming artists!
