Arriving in Billings in 1986 by way of Anchorage, Alaska, Jim Bailey has always had a love for the outdoors. He’s active with the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, National Skeet Association and the National Sporting Clays Association -just to name a few. When he’s not busy running Hardrives Construction, a pavement preservation company, you’ll find him with his wife of 21 years and four children.

Wanting to share his passion for getting outside with them and others, Jim’s Blue Creek Shooting Complex and Preserve took shape in 2009. Located just outside of Billings, it is growing into an asset to the community. Jim wants this to be a part of the community for years to come and keeps the careful balance with the environment by ensuring that the shooting complex and preserve has a minimal footprint on the environment. Alternative energy, recycling and safety measures are paramount. Jim will be joining the conversation about outdoor recreation, conservation, habitat, and living with wildlife. He may not be sharing his best hunting, camping or fishing spots, but he will be sharing some great tips, advice and few stories about the Montana outdoor experience.
