The Alex Nauman Organ Trio was formed in the fall of 2009 when a trio of lazy jazz musicians finally grew sick of backing up Smooth-jazz Divas at the local Barnes & Noble and decided to form a new kind of genre-bending power trio. The idea was simple… a band that played nothing but blues scale licks and minor 7th chords with throbbing disco drum beats gluing it all together. The results were somewhat expected… small turnouts at even the most creative music venues in town. A normal band would have given up hope, but like champions the band pushed on and booked even more opening-act gigs. With little help from family and friends they took to the studio to record the soon-to-be-released full length album “loud lullabies.” You can occasionally see them perform around the greater Billings, MT area and more likely find them at Carter’s Brewing on Montana Ave.
