Big Sky State Games
The Big Sky State Games are an olympic style sports festival for Montana residents (and residents of bordering states who do not hold state games (Idaho, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming). Between 10,000 – 11,000 athletes of all ages and abilities participate.
Weekend highlights include the Opening Ceremonies, where the torch lighting will be done by an Olympic athlete. There are thirty-five sports to choose from!
The Big Sky State Games have grown since the inaugural year in 1986 when 3,376 athletes participated in 12 sports. Montana’s Games are the largest State Games per capita in the Nation.
